Getting started

From signing up to setting your first assignment.

Once you're set up, this is your landing screen. Anything waiting on you sits at the top.

Roji builds up a record for each student so you can see where they're stuck and decide what to set next. There are three things to do first, and about ten minutes gets you to your first assignment.

1. Create an account

Enter your email under “Start for free” and we'll send you a link. There's no password to choose. You can also sign in with Google.

If a teacher invited you as a student

Open the invitation link first. Signing in before you open it gives you a teacher's account instead. If that happens, sign out and open the invitation link again.

2. Answer the setup question

The first thing we ask is what you teach. What you write there — English, high-school maths, piano — decides the assignment types, goal types and sticking-point labels you start with. You can add to them or remove them later in settings.

Write it in your own words

It isn't a list to pick from. Something like “business English and IELTS prep, plus the occasional conversation class” gives you a setup much closer to how you actually teach.

3. Add a student and set an assignment

  1. 1Add a student with just their display name. Everything else can wait.
  2. 2Write out what you already know about them, in plain prose. Their goals, weak spots and history get turned into records.
  3. 3Create one assignment and publish it. Until you publish, the student can't see it.

That's everything a student needs on their side. If you want them signing in themselves, send them an invitation link.
