Setting assignments and replying to submissions

Creating assignments, attaching YouTube links and handouts, and closing the loop on submissions.

Submissions you haven't replied to stay on your home screen.

Create assignments from the Assignments tab on a student's page. A new assignment is a draft — students see nothing until you publish it.

What you can attach

  • Body text and questions — questions can be added later
  • Links — paste a YouTube URL and it plays inline on the student's screen
  • Files — handouts or audio (10 MB each, up to five per assignment)
  • A deadline — it surfaces on the student's screen and your home screen as it approaches

We don't accept video files

They're large, and storage costs would land straight on your bill. Share video as a link instead — unlisted YouTube URLs play fine.

Publishing and pulling back

Publishing puts the assignment on that student's screen. Send it by mistake and you can pull it back, and it disappears again. Assignments with submissions can't be deleted — that would take records with them — so pull them back instead.

Replying to what comes back

A submission shows up on your home screen as needing a reply. Comment on it and the student gets it. Students can attach photos or audio, and can submit with an empty body.

AI can draft the reply for you. The option sits inside the comment box, and the draft takes that student's record into account. Read it and edit it before sending — never send it straight through.

Students can resubmit as often as they like

Resubmitting never overwrites what came before. Every attempt stays.
